Carlos Boozer is a former NBA All-Star and Olympic gold winner who was born on November 20, 1981, at a military installation in Aschaffenburg, West Germany. Boozer is one of the five kids that Carlos Sr. and Renee had. Boozer was brought up in the Juneau region of Alaska. Boozer led the basketball team known as the Crimson Bears at Juneau-Douglas High School to two consecutive state championships.

In his three seasons (2000-02) at Durham, Boozer, a member of the Duke team that won the NCAA Championship in 2001, led the Blue Devils to a 95-13 record. The Juneau, Alaska native helped Duke win three straight AP No. 1 final rankings and the ACC Championships during the same seasons.

Before forgoing his last season of NBA eligibility, Boozer garnered honours for being selected All-America, first-team All-ACC, and ACC Championship MVP in 2002. In three seasons, he scored 1,506 points, moving him up to the 31st rank on Duke’s all-time scoring list. He also holds the Duke career record for the highest field goal percentage (.631) after making 554 of 878 field goal attempts, ranking third all-time in the ACC.

Boozer was chosen for the NBA Third Team in 2008 and the NBA All-Star team in 2007 respectively. Additionally, he was on two American Olympic Teams and earned a bronze in 2004 and a gold in 2008.
