Introducing On the Record, a news quiz from The Washington Post
The Washington Post today unveiled On the Record, a daily news quiz that challenges players to identify notable quotes from top stories. Adding to The Post’s longstanding suite of crosswords and puzzles, On the Record is the first game developed in-house.
“Engagement in our games is at an all-time high with a majority of users returning to play, some as many as 30 times in the same month,” said Christopher Meighan, director of emerging news products at The Post. “On the Record adds even more value to the user experience. The game connects players to Post journalism in a new, fun and interactive way. It highlights The Post’s coverage, while challenging our audience and rewarding those who play daily.”
On the Record offers players single-question quizzes Monday through Thursday. When the clock strikes midnight, eastern time, the next quiz will be published. Friday’s quiz, which can be played throughout the weekend, features ten challenging quotes and a final bonus question where players can wager their points and double their score if they feel confident about the category. The topics span politics, culture, world, food and sports to keep even the most voracious news junkies on their toes.
